The Cathedral and John Connon School
Modern furniture for a 165-year-old heritage campus
Founded in 1860, The Cathedral and John Connon School is one of Mumbai's oldest and most prestigious institutions, spread across heritage buildings in Fort, South Mumbai — including the former John Connon School building and the historic 1860s girls' grammar school building, which today house the Junior and Middle Schools.
The brief was to furnish Smart Classrooms, science laboratories, and library spaces across multiple heritage structures — without altering their historic character — while giving students furniture built for modern, technology-enabled learning.

Popcorn Furniture ran a full site survey across the school's heritage buildings, proposed layouts that respected existing architecture, and manufactured every piece in-house to BIS standards before installing in phases scheduled around the academic calendar.
